::A Visit from Melissa Leapman::
The folks at AHYC got a lovely treat the weekend of Nov 19-21, with a visit from Melissa Leapman. We signed her books on Friday night, including a bit o' wine and cheese. We still have some of her books and leaflets in stock if you are interested - including Hot Knits and her newest (which came in the day after she left!), Cosy Crochet.
We learned lots of good stuff in workshops on Saturday (Knitting on the Edge and Knitting Beyond Scarves) and on Sunday morning (Crocheted Hat Tricks). Melissa is a lovely lady, with hot designs and knowledge galore. We thoroughly enjoyed her visit (our dinners with her on Fri and Sat were especially fun!) and hope to have her back again someday.

::Aurora Yarns Fashion Show Fabulousness!::
Saturday, November 13, we held a fashion show emceed by Frederikka Payne, of Aurora Yarns in Moss Beach, CA. Aurora Yarns distributes yarns and patterns from Garnstudio and Effectiveness by Design (there are more but that's what we featured). We hired several smashing models, including our UPS guy!, and boy, were they great! Thanks to Dan, Mia, Amy, Autumn and the young Ms. Sutton for their help in the show's success, as well as Frederikka!. Each modeled several garments, which were available in kit form (some are still at the shop for your perusal and purchasing pleasure, by the way!). Big yummy thanks to Phyllis for excellent food and to Saundra for the gorgeous flower arrangements! Great job! Here are some photos!
     
Looks like fun, eh? We'll try this again next year with another fun yarn company!

::Sale This Weekend!!!::
Welcome one and all to AHYC's 10th Anniversary Weekend! Can't believe we made it this long, looking towards 10 years more! If you are a member of the Angels of Perpetual Purchase Club (our frequent fliers program - more on our website), your sale night for members only is Friday, Nov 5. That is TOMORROW night at 7-9pm. Some celebratory sustenance will be available. Members also receive a 20% discount all month, rather than the normal 10% (it's 10 + 10 years, baby!), from Nov 1 to Nov 30.
For anyone else wanting a great deal, join us on Saturday, Nov. 6, all day from 10am-6pm. Come and see if your favorite yarn has been put on sale (somewhere between 20-50% off). More celebratory sustenance available. Sorry, no ballwinding or knitting help will be available during either event. We will also not be able to take phone orders.
