::Soft Kid Special, Habu, and Stephanie::

Have you ever knit with Muench's Soft Kid? It's lovely lightweight, and contrary to popular belief, it's not an itchy mohair. It's KID mohair. There's a difference.

Muench has come out this year with a "new" Soft Kid special edition magazine. It's new patterns and old patterns combined, some of which were out of print. The mag is printed in English (bonus!) and we just received extra copies and LOTS of new colors of the yarn.

We also just received our fall shipment from Habu Textiles, a Japanese company out of New York. There are kits to make a jacket out of a paper yarn, some new component yarns for making scarves and shawls in the Exquisite Little Knits book, and more!

And we're wishing good luck to Stephanie, who is currently on tour on the East Coast, singing like a star. She'll be back at AHYC in mid-October. If you're interested, we sell her CD at the shop.

::Even Knitting Shops Can Help!::

Here is information on a knit shop near Houston that is looking for donations to help Katrina victims:

"My shop is about 5 miles from the Astrodome, and a short distance from the Red Cross office. I have customers/friends that have volunteered to help me deliver the items collected to the Red Cross and the United Way people.

If anyone would like to send items to me, I will make sure that these items get to the agencies in charge of distributing them. The requested items are toothbrush, toothpaste, undergarments, wipes, cleaning items, soaps, bed linens, diapers, & clean clothes.

My address is 5300 N. Braeswood Blvd.#30, Houston,TX 77096, (713)661-9411.

Thanks to everyone who wants to help.

Nancy of Nancy's Knits"

You may bring your items to Angel Hair Yarn Co. and we will bundle them together and send them too, if you prefer. You are also welcome to send items directly.
