::After the Holiday Break...::
Well, we hope you're enjoying yourselves after the rush of getting things done for the holidays. Guess what my project is this week? Finishing a pair of socks that was to be my brother's xmas gift....last year! Yikes! To make it worse, I actually had a sock and a half finished - and everyone who tried one on said "too tight"! Bummer...so I ripped out and started over. I'm not doing anything else (haha, said that before) until I finish these. (yeah, right...)
So, when we reopen on Monday, Jan 2, you'll have these things to look forward to:
1. Some new classes start next week, including Pam's Modular Knitting class beginning Thursday Jan 5, based on Iris Schreier's new book. See the picture on the right - my ZigZag Scarf, made of 2 skeins of Classic Elite "Fame". There's still room for a few people to sign up! K101 with Charisse starts Wednesday, Jan 25, great for those who have only knitted scarves so far. debb's Deciphering Charts & Cables is on Jan 17 and 18.
2. We received a new Koigu shipment during the week we were closed. It's only some of what we ordered back in June (!), but there are some solids, some multis (some cool spotty ones too) and some books.
3. Garnstudio/Aurora Yarns sent us several beautiful models using their yarns (specifically, Silke Tweed, Puddel and Cotton Viscose) - you'll want to come in and see them. We also have a few newer issues of their Drops magazine: 87, 88 and 89!
4. On Thursday, Jan 5, we'll have a new trunkshow in the shop! Actual items from the Melanie Falick book Handknit for the Holidays will be in the shop for you to touch and drool...well, not on, but nearby maybe... This book is full of great winter accessories, not just holiday items, so come in and see! We've got plenty of copies of the book too!
Keep in mind that Monday, Jan 2 will probably be a very busy day in the shop. Parking will probably be at a premium - you may want to try parking over by Hollywood Video (in the building where we used to be located) - there's lots of parking there and you can easily walk around Talbot's to get to us. Steetch-n-Beech will be on as usual in the later hours.
