::More Wonderful Creations and Win $50!::

Hope you all have had a wonderful Memorial Day Holiday (if you're in the US)!

Announcing: Angel Hair's NOVELTY YARN CONTEST!

Make anything - a hat, scarf, shawl, poncho, bag, felted bag, crochet - as long as you use some (or all!) novelty yarn in the project! As per the last contest, the yarn and pattern must be available at AHYC (or online for free, or provide your original pattern info to us). The items will be displayed from the minute you bring them in (start NOW!) until the end of July. We will accept entries until July 15, and voting will be from July 16-30.

Anyone who walks in the shop will be grabbed by the arm and asked/forced to vote on their favorite item. These will be counted by any impartial UPS employee or nearby 10-year-old visitor at that time. Don't let your skills (or lack of them) stop you from entering the contest. Hey, we're giving away a $50 gift certificate to your favorite knitting/crocheting shop (Angel Hair Yarn Co.) - how can anything be better?

Remember, people vote for many reasons, including "pretty colors", "cool design", and "outstanding use of texture and spatial positioning". The winner could be YOU! While you're in to find just the right novelty yarn, check out our SCARF-O-MATIC 3000 machine! It's too wonderful/useful to be believed (especially if you believe you're not so good at picking colors/yarns to go together)...

Now, for more showing off, our gallery of lovely works of art keeps growing...

Another gorgeous Koigu shawl from the talented Alice M. ...

Didn't Rinda do a fab job on this Twisted Sisters pattern (Jaywalker), made in a mix of Twisted Sister Daktari and leftovers?

::National KIP Day!::

What's a KIP, you say? This sounds like such a blast:

Join in the 2nd Annual World Wide Knit in Public Day, June 10th. Started by Daniel Landes in 2005, World Wide Knit in Public Day was started as a way to bring knitters together and to encourage knitters to knit in public.

Join knitters from around the world! If you are interested in organizing an event in your area or for more information please visit http://www.wwkipday.com
.

Come to Angel Hair Yarn Co. on June 10 and maybe we'll convince our landlords to let us knit on the sidewalk in front of the shop! Roll down your window while driving toward the shop and show off your WIP (work in progress)! Buy a bumper sticker and slap it on the back of every vehicle you own! Email us with pictures of you knitting in public - we'll post 'em on our website! Tell the world!

::Made by Talented Customers!::

Wanna see some fun stuff? Then scroll down and check 'em out! These are things made by our loverly customers. I dare you to not be inspired and wanna make 'em all!

Betty says when she wears this scarf "the compliments start racking up!" (2 skeins Gr.Adirondack Papyrus, Shape It Scarf, S.Melville Knit Stitch)!

Phyllis' version of our famous Koigu shawl looks very mermaid-y to me...

Ann's Koigu shawl is bright and fun-colored!

Just 10 years old and she's finishing this fab Filatura Muse tank top! Looks great! You've got a job at Angel Hair when you're older, Maria!

Yvonne's lovely freeform piece found her way to a jean jacket. Very cool! I'll be posting more freeform pictures from recent classes soon too...

Wanna make me? This is a modular class Pam is teaching starting next Tuesday, May 9. You'll learn short row modular knitting, knitting backwards and an open stitch, PLUS you get to use Regal Silk from Artyarns! It'll be fun! Call soon!

OK, I have lots more pictures, will post soon. We have some new models, and new class models you've got to see! Even better, come see them in person! The yarns we've got for spring/summer are great - don't worry about the heat, that's what fans and A/C are for!
