::Holiday Closings...And More New Stuff!::
Yes, days before we plan on closing for a week, we're still getting cool new stuff. It's all our big evil plan to have you panting at the door at 10am on January 2 when we reopen, pressing your faces against the glass, hoping for a glimpse...
We received an early Spring yarn already from Plymouth, called Ms. Jones (when are they going to come up with a Ms. Butler yarn anyway?). It's multicolored fiber wrapped in a sort of pantyhose thing. Hard to describe, but it's beautiful and smooth and would make a nice tee.
We received a HUGE box of Habu textiles. These yarns are hard to find unless you go to the consumer shows or to NYC. We got in stainless steel silk and wool - these sort of crinkle when you knit them, like foil. We received pineapple ramie, cotton that is spun like paper - there are no patterns, but for you artsy, adventuresome types, it's heaven. Come check it out and see what you can create!
NOTE: The book shipment we ordered early in December got caught up in holiday shipping issues, so it won't be available until we reopen in January...
Which brings me to the sad news (for you!) - we are still doing our Annual Holiday Closing, a break which rejuvenates and refreshes us for the upcoming busy January and February. Angel Hair Yarn Co. will be closing at 6pm on Saturday, December 23, and reopening on Tuesday, January 2 at 10am. We're always sorry to miss our out-of-town friends who might be visiting during this time, but the break allows us to spend much-needed time with our families and a getaway from the hustle and bustle of holiday retail.
Happy Holidays and we'll see you in January!

::D'Kya, Our Angel Tree Gal::
Please help us support our lovely little Angel Tree Gal this year - her name is D'Kya and she is 4 years old. She wears size 4 clothes, size 10 in shoes, and wants mainly Barbie-related stuff for the holidays. You can bring your wrapped gifts to the shop this week - I believe they are giving the stuff on Friday the 15th, so please have your stuff to the shop no later than mid-day on Thursday the 14th. We know she and her family will appreciate it so much!
This was another big shipment week too - we got in some more Lantern Moon items, a HUGE shipment of Plymouth Encore and Galway and some Artyarns Handpaint Stripes sock yarn (I LOVE this stuff!). Look out for a little project I've got on my needles from Artyarns - Cashmere 5! It's a one-skein neckwarmer scarf in her signature modular/short-row style, and this 5-ply cashmere is awesome! Ask to see it if you're in. Oh - we also got new Noni bag patterns (3 new bags, one new flower - one is a great hobo bag!), Berroco Pure Merino and Foliage, as well as that great pattern for the circular coat (written for Foliage) that I did out of Crystal Palace Merino Stripes.

::A Quick Gift Idea and New Mags::
Crochet Today and Knit.1 arrived on Friday - the Knit.1 is now a normal-sized magazine, not that little thingy they published before. Cool! There's a pattern for a felted heart. Not heart-shaped. A Real Heart. My husband was amused that there are now patterns out there for a heart, a uterus, Elvis wigs, Princess Leia (Star Wars) wigs, a willie-warmer and fake boobs. He thinks we knitters are quite the weird bunch. Hehe!
Anyway, want a quick, great-looking scarf that is fun to knit and only takes one skein of the wonderful Misti Bulky Alpaca? Try the Misti Chunky Ribs and Ruffles Scarf. It's right in the middle on the Free Patterns page of the Misti International website. It knits up quickly on a #13 needle and the pattern doesn't take long to memorize. I use this one for teacher gifts, and this year, I'm using it also for my OB. I bet the nurse wondered why I called, asking about favorite colors (I don't know if she knows I'm a knitter).
We received a lot of other shipments this past week, but haven't even had a chance to open them. I'll post as we figure out more. For now, Della Q drawstring silk project bags are again on the way and our skimpy needle and accessory selection has finally been bulked up.
