::Finally, Some Books!::
We received a long-awaited book shipment today! Some new, some old, but come 'n get 'em! I'd tell you what we got, but alas, I'm at home...I'll be back in early May though. I need to get to work printing baby pics to show Little Miss Allie off to anyone who looks remotely interested...hehe! Also, we've got Interweave Crochet in stock now, the best crochet magazine out there.
In any case, I've got a few projects up my sleeve! I've started The Salina Shawl (go back a few posts for a link to this gorgeous and FREE pattern!) only takes THREE skeins and is a nice intro to lace and charts (which is a class we're teaching, by the way, May 9 & 10...). I'm almost finished with some fingerless gloves from Tweed Four, a great Classic Elite pamphlet. There are some wristlets and a little neckwarmer that match - I'm going to make them all. Great for that specialty yarn you've been hoarding, like our Jade Sapphire Cashmere 8-ply (you'll have to subtract a few stitches), or Artyarns' Ultramerino 6. One skein will do either the fingerless gloves or the wristlet/neckwarmer set! I'm doing my gloves out of one skein each of Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Garnstudio Silke Tweed. Yummy! What AHYC projects are you guys working on? Send me a small .jpg file to infoATangelhairyarnDOTcom (replace the AT and DOT), and I'll be happy to post it. Your project will be practically famous! :) Let me know what yarns/patterns you used - even if it's only partially done. How about you Monday S&B'ers? Let's all have a look - plus it'll make me feel like I'm already back!
Speaking of classes, there's some great ones starting this month! This is a great time to learn a new skill, before the kids are out of school. Check out this page - we've got Crochet 101, Socks Made Simple, and a Sock Clinic (for those of you who are stuck, or just need a kickstart for One Sock Syndrome). Next month, try Hat in a Day (great if you've just learned to knit), Easy Baby Booties (great gift idea any time of the year), Five Easy Fixes (learn to correct the most common mistakes), and Knitting 101 (everybody's doing it). Call now to sign up! Wanna learn something we don't have listed? Call us to set up a private lesson that suits your schedule - it's only $25 for an hour of undivided attention (plus a 10% discount on anything you buy).

::We're Greener Every Day...::
If you've been in to visit Angel Hair Yarn Co. lately, you might have noticed that companies are all about "going green" this spring. Lots of bamboo and linen products are available, including Gedifra Korella. We just got in plenty of gorgeous colors of this linen blend yarn last week and we love it! Great for a tank, t-shirt, even a skirt!

If you love subtle, natural coloring, check out Nashua Ecologie Cotton DK - all the "colors" are creamy shades with hints of gold and taupe. Look for the new books by Nashua as well, including Designer's Collection #4.
We are getting different sock yarns in all the time, the most recent of which is Regia Silk and Silk Colors. New sock yarns don't stay in stock long, so make sure to visit the shop often to see what's new. You'll be seeing new Tofutsies colors as soon as they are out - we've just been told by SWTC that Sample Pack #2 is just about ready to ship! Ask at the front counter for free patterns (we have 2) for this cool yarn (or look at www.soysilk.com), or use any of your favorites! Not enough sock news? In early May, we'll have a shipment of a variety of Mountain Colors sock yarns (Bearfoot and Weavers Wool, plus a sampler of patterns that goes with them), and in June (and every other month after that), a new SPECIAL color of TOFUtsies that is only available at select shops across the country! We only get one bag, so once it's sold out, it's out... get it while it's hot!
Vogue Knitting is in, if you haven't already noticed...not too many copies left. It's a good one!
