::Contest and New Stuff::

Don't forget about our latest contest - Pet Sweaters/Items! Bring in your dog sweaters, your ferret leashes, your cat beds, you name it! You've got until Oct. 15 to bring in your item, and the quicker you bring it, the more display time it will get, thereby increasing your chances to get more votes! We'll let customers vote from Oct 16-30, and whoever gets the most votes, gets a $25 gift certificate to Angel Hair! Whooohoo! Remember, it just needs to be yarn and a pattern available at our shop to qualify. If you wrote the pattern yourself (not required!), please supply us with a writeup, in case someone wants to make your beauty for themselves!

If you're interested in taking a class, don't hesitate to call or stop by to sign up. We have a minimum of 4 to keep the classes from cancelling. Try my UFO (unfinished objects) class on Tuesday night from 6-ish to 7-ish (we might start/end a little later than that). Don't you want to just finish those sleeves, or figure out that afghan you started a few years ago? I'll help you do it and then you can finish it up and move on! There's also Robin's One Day Baby Booties class starting on Oct 9 - what a great gift and a quick way to increase your basic skills! Or try Easy Socks on One Circular (Charisse's version of the Magic Loop method), or Continental Knitting. Knitting 102 (the next step after you've made a scarf is coming up toward the end of the month), and so is Peggy's Classic Socks class. This is a great time to add to your skills, before the pressure of the holidays hits. Now you'll have something to work on while the rest of your family sits around and watches football or movies!

In this week, Misti Baby Alpaca Chunky and Brown Sheep Bulky.

Watch here for more info on Cheryl Schaefer's upcoming visit on Oct 22 and Sally Melville's classes on Nov 10 and 11....

::Della Q in the House!::

A new collection of Della Q bags are at the shop, including her gorgeous silk circular needle bags, some beautiful tweed bags, which match, so that you have a smaller accessory pouch inside your incredible tweed knitting bag.
Della Q's bags are so beautiful, you could mistake them for a real purse! I would DEFINITELY take these out in public and show them off!

We also have the new Maizy sock yarn (90% corn, 10% nylon) from Crystal Palace - yum!
KnitCol from Plymouth too - this is DK weight self-fairisling yarn, too cute! What else?
Patterns from Classic Elite - including Tweed Four, which has the ruffly fingerless mitts pattern which many of you have admired at the shop.

Lots of new Leisure Arts patterns (they are really getting more upscale every day!) - Nicky Epstein's Felting how-to book, a Needle Felting instruction book, some beautiful washcloth patterns (perfect for early holiday knitting), plenty of baby patterns, the new Debbie Macomber knit-along book (it's actually a collection of her faves), and more...

Happy birthday to our Joanne! Later this week....Brown Sheep Bulky and next week, Misti Alpaca....whoohooo!

::Koigu..Once Again...::

Oh hooray! Another shipment of Koigu is in! And yes, there are some browns...some navy, a gorgeous deep green, some of the "dotty" colors, a few brights, a few pastels....oooh....aaahhh....More new colors to make Mary Bit's Bargello Stole with...What? You don't know the Bargello Stole? Come in and see..

We also received Plymouth's KnitCol - a weird name, but a cool yarn. It's a DK weight self-fair-isling (is that a word?) yarn. We've got a cute child's pullover or cardigan pattern, and also a sock pattern. It comes in fun, bright colors.

Have you been missing "our" Stephanie? Well, check her out on www.YouTube.com. There are about 16 videos featuring our friend, including one interview. She's living in the UK now, and currently finishing up a tour in Australia, then it's back to the UK for her. What a life!

We're working on some fun projects - try a beaded ornament for the holidays, a super fast and easy drop stitch ribbon stole based on a poncho we did a few seasons ago, a really cute Jo Sharp Soho Summer cotton sweater that Ellen's nearly finished with, and some new baby sweaters. Models coming soon!

Oh - almost forgot. Della Q's new bags (silks and tweeds from Vietnam) have just arrived! I didn't get a chance to look through them today or put them out - we were too busy celebrating my birthday! Not a major one, but next year....uh oh....
